Inaugurated in 1982, the market has a large variety of handicrafts, fishes, meats, fruits, vegetables and other specialties for sale. Besides there are cafeterias and restaurants.
The name, Brasílio Abud, honors a Paranaguá's former mayor.

Paranaguá's Handicraft Market is located right beside the city market and offers a wide range of typical handicrafts made by local craftsmen.
The building, in neo-renaissance style, was formely used as a fish market and was completely rebuilt to become a handicrafts shop.

Mercado Municipal do Café (Coffee City Market)
At the main city market, Mercado Municipal do Café, the tourist will find a large variety of handicrafts and typical dishes. Formerly the place was used as a coffee degustation point, serving local appetizers. Nowadays also sea food dishes are sold there.
The building where the market is located, dating from ending 19th century, is a mix of art-noveau and classicism, entirely built in bow and lace iron.
