Susi and Pichete

Susi has been travelling to the island since she was a teenager, as she loved to surf. She used to work as cultural producer in Curitiba before she suddenly made the decision to leave the stressful life behind and spend the summer on the island. By that time, she had a house there and began to rent rooms for tourists.

She married Pichete, a native from the island, and together they built "Pousada das Meninas". Susi says that without his help she probably would have given up right in the beginning, as it is quite difficult to transport anything to the island. Pichete has a boat and takes tourists to the wonderful places in the Paranaguá Bay. They have two children and enjoy very much the calm and easy-going lifestyle on Ilha do Mel.
