Hélene & Sérge

This friendly couple had to cross the ocean from Europe to South America to make their life story in the enchanting Honey Island.

Sérge was born in Morocco and has lived in France where worked for a long while as baker. Hélene was born in Algeria but her family left the country during the Algerian Revolution. A cousin of Hélene had introduced her to Sérgeand they started dating.

They moved to Brazil and decided to have their own business at the Honey Island. Hélene takes care of the pousada management and Sérge is in charge of the delicious breads, cakes, crepes and profiteroles.
