Pickup info:

Train tickets will be left in each participant's name at the train station. They can be picked up until 8.00 hours on the day of the departure. The tour guide will meet the participants in Morretes.



Cancellation policy

According to Brazilian Law (Deliberação Normativa número 161 de 09/08/1985 – EMBRATUR):

- Up to 30 days prior to reserved services: 10% of the daily rate will be charged

- Between 29 and 21 days prior to reserved services: 20% of the daily rate will be charged

- Between 20 and 10 days prior to reserved services: 50% of the daily rate will be charged

- Between 9 and 3 days prior to reserved services: 80% of the daily rate will be charged

- Between 2 days and the day of arrival or in case of no-show: 100% of the daily rate will be charged

Children policy

This tour is not recommended for children under six years of age.

Rates for children:

  • Children 6-12 years: R$90 per child
  • Children over 13 years of age: full rate

Hiking to Waterfall Salto da Fortuna


Duration: 11 hour(s) - Location: Morretes

In the morning, participants will get to see the magnificent landscapes of the Serra do Mar mountain range, as they journey by train, and enjoy the breathtaking views.

By the end of the morning, they will reach Morretes, a small town on the foothills.

After trying the typical dish, the tasty barreado, a beef stew, with fish and prawns, in a restaurant on the banks of the Nhundiaquara River, the participants will be taken to visit the Pau Oco State Park and hike through the forest, with its rich array of flora and fauna, to the Salto da Fortuna waterfall.

Later, the participants will return to Curitiba via the Estrada da Graciosa, stopping along to take pictures.

Difficulty level: This tour is a bit challenging and demands good physical condition.

Itinerary

  • 8:15 - Leave Curitiba by train for Morretes
  • 11:15 - Arrival in Morretes. Meet local guide and visit the historic town centre
  • 12:30 - Lunch in Morretes, where participants will try the famous local dish barreado, which is beef stew with fish and prawns
  • 13.30 - Transfer to Pau Oco State Park and guided hike to the Salto da Fortuna waterfall
  • 15.30 - Arrival at the waterfall and time for swimming
  • 16.30 - Hike back to Morretes
  • 17.45 - Return to Curitiba by car or van, via the historic Estrada da Graciosa
  • 19.30 - Arrival in Curitiba

Participant guidelines

What to bring: comfortable hiking and water shoes, light clothes and a jacket in case it gets colder, rain coat, insect repellent and sun protection, bathing suit, camera with extra batteries, cash, as it might be difficult to withdraw money in Morretes.

Participants are requested to follow all the instructions of the tour guide, for their own safety. The guide is a trained professional, experienced in hiking in the rain forest. The tour might be cancelled due to adverse weather conditions. In such a case, an alternative activity will be suggested.
