The friendly couple, Carlos and Sueli, owns the pousada Enseada das Conchas. Carlos's mother and his sister founded this pousada 18 years ago and after a while, Carlos and Sueli decided to take it over. Carlos used to work as industrial designer and Sueli is a psychologist, working in human resources in Paranaguá. For 14 years, they have lived on the island and Carlos is quite involved in several associations to promote the coast of Paraná and to improve the service standards on the island. They are very nice people, looking to please their guests with many details. Sueli bakes the bread herself and they have several cats.

Pousada Enseada das Conchas is part of the Bem Receber program, created by the Tourism Ministry. It means, "good receiving", and aims to develop and promote businesses and individuals to introduce and maintain projects relating to responsible tourism, such as water and energy saving, staff education and qualification, waste recycling and others.
